Daniel Smith Inquest Verdict: Non Dependant Drug Use

After being given instructions on what could be deliberated upon in the inquest into the death of Daniel Smith in the Bahamas, the jury told the magistrate that they were not satisfied with the choices. They then requested transcripts from the testimony to use in their deliberations. The magistrate also refused that request.
With no satisfactory options left for them, the jury came back with a verdict of “Non Dependant Drug Use”. No further details are available at this time.

Corruption at it’s finest. There was only a small glimmer of hope that the Bahamas would be above board.
Delay after delay, witnesses missing, witnesses that could have gone but did not go, jury instructions, refusal of transcripts, bit by bit chipped away and narrowed down the outcome.
This says it all. It’s clear that this inquest was not for truth finding.

What a SAD day it is!!! I can’t say that I am surprised, just very dissapointed. Alamogirl–we also have NEW YORK to look forward to!!!;)
Hopefully now the wheels will really start turning….. and we will see LOTS of action. (After all of this waiting until the inquest is over….)

I think all of Stern camp think it is over. OJ was sued and he can’t make any money with out giving it to the father of the guy killed. Also now I am sure they will go for Dr. Evil. I am sure she will not take the charges if there any without blaming Howard. Howard was at her house when it was raided. I am sure Jerry Brown knows what is going on. I am glad to see it get out of the corrupt Bahamas. Poor Anna and Daniels bodies are there tho. Howard said he would never leave them. He still has his place in Ca. so was he lying?

Can you think of him staying for ever in the Bahamas? None of his people are there. The people in the Bahamas that was so called friends of Howards were the paid people. They won’t stay friends if they aren’t paid all the times. He will die a lonely man with tons of weight on his shoulders. If he is guilty he WILL have to meet if maker. Our Lord and Savior.

I am sooooo furious, and sick to my stomach. The Bahamas must not follow British Law exactly or they would have Stern behinde bars for AT LEAST the same thing they have Amy Winehouse’s husband in Jail for!!!!! All I can HOPE is that this is a blessing in disquise and we can now add many more charges as a result of this debacle. (I guess due to the International issue the FBI will need to be more involved.)Obstruction of Justice, and Witness tampering come to mind……

This outcome is just what most of us were expecting, so no real shock although it does tell us exactly what the Justice System in the Bahamas is all about! We already know what hks is all about and his day IS coming. IF he’s breathing a sigh of relief tonight, he really should re-think that because it’s a long way from being over!

I apologize for others “ignorant” replies. Considering the circumstances its to be expected when soo many ppl come all over and spread filth throughout.
I will attempt to answer your question but please know that I am not legally inclined nor claim to be. I leave that for the know it alls and others.
I would figure since the Bahama’s has determined what they have that the inquest is DONE. Hence the US would likely accept the ruling and not bother going through the same process, possibly “wasting” the courts time.
BUT that does not rule out other possible avenues key players can utilize to gain answers. Ex. finding out where and how Daniel gained possession of such narcotics.
I would suggest that we all pay close attention to all moves made by everyone is this tragic tragedy.
There are soo many questions left unanswered. And I would “assume” that those whom claim to care deeply for both lost souls would DEMAND answers to the missing pieces to the puzzle.
Mishme, I do hope you do not hold one posters comments “against” the rest of us. Everyone that has any interest in this “story” seems to have been a victim of cruel comments and also dealt some themselves. Emotions run extremely high in such situations, likely in fear that such just might touch their own personal doorstep.
Regardless, I hope that I have made a dent in your question and hopefully encouraged others that might possess more intel then myself to answer you also.

I understand your explanation of my question.
I also believe its not over yet lots of investigations, especially into the drug aspect. These Dr’s making it so accessable. (such in the case of Heth Ledger)
If it was a civil suit filed[like the Browns and Goldmans filed)I would think it would have to be in the jurisdiction but thats why I asked.
I dont hold anything one or two say and act against all. I believe that two people can disagree and still be able to ask questions, discuss and debate in a mature fashion. Though I have also learned through this saga that there are some that are not capable.
That IMO is very sad, how do they trudge through everyday life?
I have stepped back for the most and have just been taking it all in. And….yes so many unanswered question.

While I don’t doubt that your question was legitimate. As I mentioned before, ONLY ATTORNEYS CAN give legal advice so you should consult YOUR attorney!! (Anyone who knows ANYTHING about law will tell you that). While a lot of us are very intellegent, and we are able to see the facts, none of profess to be know it alls. That is one of the many reasons we are here, to learn new FACTS!!

The TMZ thing is saying it’s huge because they DIDN’T say that HKS is guilty. TMZ IS NOT saying HKS is guilty.
If the jury wasn’t satisfied with the options given to them, then why not find it as an “open verdict” instead of “accidental non- dependent drug use?”
Was this little bit of info given to you by your source or has it been in the media? I haven’t been around much the last few days so if it was in the media then I missed it. It just doesn’t make sense that the jury felt their hands were tied and then they find “accidental” and not “open verdict.”

In the interview on Greta last night with the reporter from the Bahamas, something that she said struck a chord with me.
The reporter stated that the magistrate instructed the jurors that they should consider that Daniel got the methadone from his mother’s prescription medication and that he took it either for pain or recreational use.

I think QV does a wonderful job and is truly honest. I only wish that the nannies could have been there at the inquest. I do not feel it was an honest inquest. I feel that some of the lawyers and judges can be paid off. I also think that the jury was not given the liberty of choosing what they felt was the result of Daniels death. Why would anybody take 22 pills at one time to relax or stop an ache? Where did Daniel get the methodone? It wasn’t brought in the airplane. Daniel was only there several hours. Thank goodness there is a Higher Power and a law of the universe that says what goes around comes around. Also what you give comes back to you. It feels good to know that we can relax and let.

thanks Twinkie….it’s nice to know that the info we’re receiving out of the Baha’s is consistent with other reports. Not that it makes it any more right. I still don’t understand how a judge can instruct a jury on an “inquest”. Why have an inquest in the first place if the judge was going to rule rather than the jury? dang…Shakespeare did have it right (along with the Eagles)”Kill all the lawyers”….except for Neil and John.

I don’t know how many of you are following the Wecht Trial. I think one of the reasons Daniel’s inquest went the way it did is because of Wecht’s dirty rotten $80,000.00 autopsy report that was very dishonest about what really killed Daniel. It was not a combination of the medications in his system as it was not a combination of drugs that killed Anna! Chloral Hydrate killed Anna and Methadone killed Daniel. True they both had many other drugs in their system but they both had a death dose of the drug that actually killed them.
The jury has lost one juror that had to be released because of a medical condition that was agitated by the stress of deliberating on the 41 cases against Wecht. The jury is continuing deliberations without a 12th juror although there are alternates. The judge ruled that they could continue deliberating without add an alternate because the jury would have to start deliberating all over again to catch the alternate up to speed. The jury only needs 10 jurors. The defense as filed an objection and the prosecution has responded. The judge has not ruled on the objection as of yet.
Today the jury sent a request to the judge. They wanted to know if there are any exhibits they do not have for Count 32, a wire fraud charge. They said that the do have that they had a fax that was entered for one date but not the fax for the second date. The defense wanted to send a confusing message back to the jury but the judge ruled in favor of the prosecution and sent a message as to the date when the fax was introduced.
These poor jurors have 10,000 pages of evidence to peruse and 41 counts to ponder. I believe that they are trying very hard to come up with an honest verdict for all of the cases.
I hope they send this man to prison for a very long time because I believe he has caused an incredible disservice to Daniel by watering down the autopsy report. The man is not a crack forensic scientist but a quake forensic scientist.

Dang, I may have posted a little early. The Jury has sent a note to the judge stating they are hopelessly deadlocked. The judge said that he is going to poll each one of the jurors and ask them to continue deliberating.

Jason Cato, Pittsburg Tribune reports, “The jurors in the federal public corruption trial of former Allegheny County Coroner Dr. Cyril H. Wecht have indicated they are deadlocked on all counts, but will return Monday to try a final time to reach a unanimous verdict.”
Sounds like a possible mistrial to me. Dang it!

OK, my inquisitive side is coming out….As Im reading different things I begin to question a few.
Missy,though I dont doubt somethings you say, I question you call Anna “Nicki” but yet in her card to you she signs it “Vicki” why is that?
You talk of Virgie like you knew/know her well. How many times did you see Virgie back then with or without Anna? Do you or why dont you have pictures of Virgie?

Hey everyone. In the legal documents section are the lastest filed today by CBS and Stern. They are objecting to Rose being added as a defendant. I suppose they are afraid that would establish jurisdiction for Virgie. That is the only reason that I can think of they would object to her only and not Harris, Levin and TMZ.

With all do respect your comment about burying Anna in a tiara and mocking “ding dong the witch is dead”(Howard) is not correct. I think she was buried with it because she was a “Princess” and that is why .

Missy,though I dont doubt somethings you say, I question you call Anna “Nicki” but yet in her card to you she signs it “Vicki” why is that?

Vikie Lynn’s mother explained on tv how she called herself different names at different times, depending on what state of mind she was in.
Vickie used the name ‘Nikki’ early in her career…which is documented in all of her biographies.
That same link mentions it:

I can’t help but wonder why anyone would ever be ‘jealous’ of such a LOSER as ANS. As soon as she got involved with Stern her career went to the dogs and she went down hill until the day she died, even being designated as ‘white trash’ in the international press.
No one is jealous of a virtually broke has been who has a major drug problem whose face and body were disfigured by cosmetic surgeries.
When she was in High School she was very pretty but all the years of debauchery took their toll. Being infamous for being a gold digger, an addict, a sex offender and much more is nothing to be envious of in my view.
