Nelda and Kenneth Turner who are being sued for defamation by Anna Nicole Smith’s mother, Virgie Arthur, have filed a motion with the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas to move their case to the Southern District Texas court. The documents state so they can be consolidated with the other lawsuits related to this case.

Attorney Michael Meyer for the O’Quinn Law Firm, rebuts this motion saying that the Eastern District is indeed the proper place and states that subpoenas were issued in the Eastern District and should be enforced in the same place as so far the Turners have not produced potential evidence as asked for. The Evolution of Anna Nicole Smith.

This article has been a long time coming. I have hauled the book around with me most every where I go. Reading it again and again searching for the right parts to cover.

The first part that I wrote concerning Missy’s book about Anna Nicole came pretty easy. But after the inquest where a Bahamian jury was basically told what verdict to come back with, I exchanged emails with Missy and she was devastated. She was once a loving caretaker of Daniel Smith. The tow headed happy little guy that adored his mother as well as his grandmother whom he called ‘Mee Maw”. Missy was there to see it. She lived it. And to tell it, she bravely revealed parts of herself that I am positive she never would have wanted under public scrutiny. Her grief however was not for herself, but for Anna Nicole Smith’s mother. To many who follow the various cases that have erupted from the life and death of Anna Nicole Smith, Attorney Neil McCabe was a new name. We all knew the name of L.Linn Wood who has garnered settlements from some high profile defamation cases. One of his recently decided upon cases was against the Atlanta Journal Constitution. It was a bomb though as the case actually went to court and Wood did not prevail for the wrongly accused heroic Richard Jewell who died at the age of 44 due to complications of diabetes and kidney disease. Personally I find this astounding because Jewell was clearly innocent. His life ruined from what was proven in other lawsuits to be false allegations. Read the rest of this entry »
