Anna Nicole Smith Lawsuit Discovery Issues
Latest responses from attorneys for John O'Quinn who is being sued by Howard K. Stern for defamation outline efforts to have investigators Don Clark and mainly Wilma Vicedomine deposed and arguments against exposing attorney work product. There is currently a motion to quash the request to depose Ms. Vicedomine which has been granted due to her investigations possibly being used in other related cases. See article.
O'Quinn also rightfully objects to attorney fees that Stern attorneys demand as a sanction for O'Quinn filing "baseless objections"?
The three ongoing lawsuits which also include, Stern vs Rita Cosby, Virgie Arthur vs Stern and eight other defendants including bloggers are becoming more intertwined as the cases move forward.
Also filed in the case of Stern vs Rita Cosby from her publisher is a letter to the court verifying all parties agree to an extension of time until September 26th from August 15th for the close of discovery.
Cited in the letter are complaints of non-cooperation by Larry Birkhead who is a crucial witness in the dispute over statements in the book Blonde Ambition and the estate of Anna Nicole Smith. Not to mention the complication of the Wilma Vicedomine subpoena effort being quashed and the inability of Hachette Books to locate Jackie Hatten who made claims of knowledge of a sex tape featuring Howard K. Stern and Larry Birkhead.
